Main Street Union City Announces “Tacos & Tamales” Fundraising Event for Fall 2025

UNION CITY, TENN. Main Street Union City has announced the date and new location for its popular “Tacos & Tamales” fundraising event. The festival is scheduled for Sat., Oct. 11, 2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. and vendors will be lined up and down First Street this year.

This is the organization’s fifth year hosting this event. Guests can expect great food vendors with their authentic Hispanic dishes, drinks and desserts, as well as enjoy special late-night shopping with the downtown merchants.

“At Main Street, we are big advocates for our downtown businesses, so every year we think how we can include our stores in this fun event,” said Katie Graves, executive director for Main Street Union City. “At one of our Main Street board meetings earlier this year, several board members suggested moving the event to First Street so that we could bring the crowd to the merchants’ front doors. We are really excited to see how this new set up goes this year!”

There will be three traditional Hispanic dance groups performing throughout the evening for guests to enjoy. Don Sol will be selling their famous margaritas throughout the evening to pair with authentic food sold by local Hispanic families in Obion County. Event officials encourage guests to bring their bag chairs to set up near the stage to enjoy the entertainment.

Admission to the event is $5 per person, and children 3 and under are free. Entrances will be located at the intersections of First and Washington Ave., as well as First and Church St. Event organizers said there will be plenty of signs directing guests where to enter.

“This event would not be possible without great partners and sponsors,” said Graves. “Whether they have given financially to support this event or donated their time and energy, we are extremely grateful for them and would not have such a successful event year after year without them.”

Sponsors of Tacos & Tamales include premier sponsor Don Sol; stage sponsor – the City of Union City; entertainment sponsor – Tennessee Arts Commission; gold sponsors – Aloha Pools & Spas, JD Distributors and Stover & Aguilar CPAs; and silver sponsors – Consolidated Crane; First Citizens National Bank; Obion County JEDC; Rinker Underground Solutions and Vaughn Electric.
